50ml or 100ml? Picking Your Bottle Size

Almost every Regalia fragrance comes in 50ml and 100ml, and the bigger bottle is not automatically the better buy. Here is the arithmetic, so you can decide in about a minute.

How many sprays are in a bottle

A standard atomiser releases roughly 0.1ml per spray. So:

  • 50ml is about 500 sprays
  • 100ml is about 1,000 sprays

At four sprays a day, every day, a 50ml bottle lasts around four months and a 100ml around eight. If you only wear a scent at weekends and weddings, say twice a week, the same 50ml stretches past two years.

The part people forget: perfume expires

Unopened and stored away from light and heat, a bottle is generally good for three to five years. Once opened, expect two to three years before the top notes start to flatten and the colour darkens.

This is the real argument against the big bottle. A 100ml of something you wear twice a year will go off before you finish it. You have not saved money, you have bought 60ml of perfume you will pour away.

When the 100ml is genuinely cheaper

It depends on the scent, so it is worth checking the two prices before you add to cart. Two real examples from our range:

  • Siuuu is Rs 2,399 for 50ml and Rs 3,199 for 100ml. That is about Rs 48 per ml against Rs 32 per ml. The bigger bottle is a third cheaper per spray.
  • Boss Aura is Rs 2,999 for 50ml and Rs 5,499 for 100ml, or about Rs 60 per ml against Rs 55. Much closer, so the saving matters less.

A simple rule

Buy 100ml when it is your signature scent, you wear it most days, and you have smelled it on your own skin for a full day already.

Buy 50ml when it is your second or third bottle, a seasonal scent, a gift, or anything you have only smelled briefly.

Buy neither yet if you have not tried it. A 2ml five-piece set at Rs 349 or the 5ml set costs less than a wrong 100ml bottle by a wide margin.
